A Trip to East Texas

-
Yesterday, Eric and I went out to his in East Texas.

It was just Eric, his son, Mathew, and myself.

We took pictures on the way...

We stopped at the on the way out there.

Bales of Hay were everywhere.

Hey, look! A painted cow!

Ah, historic .

Doesn't this look like an old ?

The open fields were gorgeous.

Some goats...

The open sky was gorgeous. Kept making me think about what life must of been on the range...

This is supposed to be a road.

It lead to this gate.

This was half of our objective: Eric's deer blind.

There were insects everywhere... This one appeared to be a grasshopper.

This scary looking spider was on a branch about half a foot from the deer blind.

A cool looking dragon fly.

The grasshopper had sibblings all over...

The other half of our objective: Eric's deer feeder.

We had to fix it...

and test it...

They were still cutting the hay in this field.

We mounted the now working feeder control box.

We filled up the feeder, and before we could even test it, we found this spider in the process of making a home on the underside of the feeder. Eric removed it with a stick...

After the spider was gone, we were able to test the feeder. It had a pretty good spread.

This is picture 1 of a pretty cool pair of pictures of the scary looking spider and the cool looking dragon fly back at the deer blind.

This is picture 2 of a pretty cool pair of pictures of the scary looking spider and the cool looking dragon fly back at the deer blind.

We pulled over the deer blind to move it. Out sprang a whole munch of hornets!!! doh! This might have been their nest...but we weren't getting close enough to find out. This pretty much cut short our plans to modify it.

This is the feed setup of one of Eric's buddys who is also on the lease.

This is an old hog trap that was there when they first started leasing the property.

This pond was dry the last time I was here.

One of Eric's friends has a solar powered deer feeder.

We think that the neighbors set this up to hunt on this land.

Eric's friend's deer blind.

This is a cool looking gate.

The ugliest car in the world??

This was an interesting sign someone had along the highway.

Some cows under a tree.

"They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is , and in Greek, Apollyon."
